First message related to this image:
"I would think that this photo is somehow related to the orthodox church, as there appears to be an orthodox priest in the center. It might be an idea to compare it to the archives of the Juneau orthodox church."
Second comment:
"Two of the fellows in the front row (first and third from left) are relatives."
Location: Saint Paul
Name: Bourdukofsky
Date: ca. 1930s
Third comment:
"It's the Church in Sitka"
Fourth comment:
"Image was taken in Juneau (ca 1930’s), at the Indian Government Hospital (or Government Indian Hospital) which was located where the Federal Parking Lot by Gold Creek is. The Priest (center) is probably Father Kashavaroff, and the Native Men are there to study nursing."
I believe it is...
St. Tikhon the Confessor, Patraiarch of Moscow and all of Russia.
I know that Sitka gets Orthodox Word...if they got the recent copy I received yesterday in the mail May 13th 2009, the whole issue is about him. And you can pass on the neat information about him and his relation to Alaska as well.
